Highlights
At HHS, you’ll find state-of-the-art robotic medication dispensing services. This technology, called a pill picker, fully automates the storage and retrieval of medication.
Pharmacy automation is supported by a small team of pharmacists and technicians, facilitating the use of technology to provide safer and more accurate medication packaging, compounding and distribution. The team supports robotics within the inpatient pharmacies, dispensing cabinet technology, compounding pumps in sterile compounding, and monitors the system for appropriate use and narcotic security. They also support pharmacy informatics in the hospital information system.
Our pharmacy team has the opportunity to contribute to the profession by participating in the ongoing improvement of care as HHS prides itself on its culture of continuous improvement and innovation. One way this can be done is by participating on committees such as Pharmacy & Therapeutics, Medication Safety Committee, Patient Safety Triad or task forces Narcotics Safety, Surgical Site Infection, Medication Reconciliation.
