Highlights
Most X-ray positions can be comprised of X-Ray, computed tomography (CT) and Interventional Radiology (IVR).
IVR: Our X-Ray Technologists can work within a newly renovated Fluoroscopy Suite, equipped with the advanced Philips Azurion 7 M20 machine. This provides a premier environment for performing cutting-edge interventional procedures for both adult and pediatric patient populations. There are regularly opportunities to train in this area.
CT: In 2022 we installed a Siemens SOMSTOM X.cite at our McMaster University Medical Centre, making us the first hospital in Canada to have this type of machine. It provides more functionality, faster processing, and improved image quality. By running this machine 24/7 we’re able to use the newest technology for emergency pediatric patients as well as outpatient pediatric and adult patients.
GI: With the new state-of-the-art Siemens Artis Zee Multi-Purpose machine, our team is performing advanced GI procedures for both adult and pediatric patient populations in a newly renovated Fluoroscopy Suite.
