Highlights
Our Operating Room and Surgical Services departments welcome nurses entering the profession and provide the opportunity for a successful transition from student to nurse through:
- An innovative orientation program
- Mentorship with experienced nurses
- Dedicated clinical educators at all our surgical sites
Over the last several years, HHS has made significant investments in training and developing our Operating Room nurses through internships, multi-site clinical placements and orientations in labour and delivery, gynecological surgery, endoscopy and more.
Opening in fall 2025, the new West Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Grimsby features operating rooms and endoscopy services with a new top-of-the-line heating, ventilation and air conditioning system to control temperature and humidity, as well as an expansion of our endoscopy suites, and brand new equipment including endoscopes, and X-ray machines. This all allows our health care team to work more efficiently when providing important screening procedures, like colonoscopies, in our community.
